Up The Yard Challenge Race Nominations Close Monday 16th October
Punchestown racecourse today announced that TRI Equestrian will sponsor the prizes for the inaugural running of the Up The Yard Challenge Race on day one of the Punchestown Winter Festival, Saturday 18th November 2017.
The Curragh based equestrian retail superstore has generously offered a massive €3,000 worth of TRI Equestrian vouchers to be divided between the staff of the winning yard. A further €100 voucher will be awarded to each of the 16 riders taking part in the race. Yards and studs are requested to nominate a rider aged 18 years and over who have not ridden under rules or in a point to point to represent their business. All nominations must be received by the Punchestown office by close of business on Monday 16th October. The 16 riders and reserves will be drawn during racing on Thursday 19th October.
Furthermore, TRI Equestrian will also sponsor spot prizes throughout the day as the inter-yard games and challenges take place in the parade ring and dedicated hospitality area on the first floor of the grandstand.
Philip Masterson, Managing Director of TRI Equestrian, commented that he and the team are excited to be associated with this new initiative “Stable and stud staff are the back bone of the racing industry in Ireland and TRI Equestrian are delighted to contribute to the Up The Yard day at Punchestown. The winning yard will be kitted out with some of our excellent outdoor clothing and accessories for the season ahead. It’s our way of giving something back and recognising those who work so hard on the ground with horses every day. We wish all competitors, staff and yard teams an enjoyable day at Punchestown on 18th November”
The Up The Yard day will celebrate Irish stable and stud staff at Punchestown with a dedicated hospitality area, live music, party food, inter yard challenges and games, spot prizes and a complimentary coach transfer to Naas after racing. Admission is free with a valid AIR card on the day. Stud staff admission details will be issued shortly.
The Punchestown Winter festival takes place on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th November. For further information, ticket and hospitality package enquiries please visit www.punchestown.com or call 045 897704.
